HighPoint Fellowship

Vision Statement:

Life at HighPointTo lead change in our community by being the presence of Christ as we partner with others to bring help, hope and healing to people of every color and background.

To Lead Change…

Jesus changes lives. He changes individuals and he changes communities. HighPoint Fellowship believes that, as Christ’s presence in our community, we are called to be in the engine of change not in the caboose. We believe that the future growth and development of our community is a spiritual matter. Our vision is to lead in the healthy changes our community needs.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8 (NIV)

In Our Community…

HighPoint Fellowship draws people from an enormous geographical area. We see this trend increasing, not decreasing. So where is our community? We believe our community is relational rather than geographical. Our community is defined more by our Facebook friends than by our neighborhoods. Your community is whom God has put into your life—in your family, at work, at school, in your neighborhood, or your twitter followers. We encourage every member of HighPoint Fellowship to live out our shared vision individually as well as a gathered community.

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

Always let others see you behaving properly… then on the day of judgment they will honor God by telling the good things they saw you do. 1 Peter 2:12 (CEV)

By Being the Presence of Christ…

What would it look like if Jesus lived in my community? In what ways would he bless people in my network? My family? My work? We see ourselves as being the very presence of Christ in all of our communities. This awareness is one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to us as believers!

Because I live, you also will live. John 14:19 (NIV)

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

As We Partner with Others…

Jesus changes lives all around us. He does this through other churches, through para-church organizations, through businesses and through individuals. Our vision is to partner with all of these to see changed lives.

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)

To Bring Help, Hope and Healing…

We believe that, “It’s OK to be broken: it’s not OK to stay broken.” HighPoint is filled with broken people who have found healing. We get excited about changed lives because we know how much Jesus has changed us!

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17 (NIV)

“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. Malachi 4:2 (NLT)

At HighPoint, “We assume strength, not fragility through Christ.” We believe that Jesus Christ has the power to change any life, anytime, anywhere. We have seen remarkable stories of Christ’s healing power. We fully expect to see many more.

God didn’t give us a cowardly spirit but a spirit of power, love, and good judgment. 2 Timothy 1:7 (GW)

We have not stopped praying for you since the first day we heard about you. In fact, we always pray that God will show you everything he wants you to do and that you may have all the wisdom and understanding that his Spirit gives. Then you will live a life that honors the Lord, and you will always please him by doing good deeds. You will come to know God even better. His glorious power will make you patient and strong enough to endure anything, and you will be truly happy. Colossians 1:9-11 (CEV)

To People of Every Color and Background.

HighPoint is a multi-ethnic church. We believe that cultural diversity is God’s creative intent and our call as a fellowship. We are immensely enriched by the multiple cultures at HighPoint. Our vision is to be a church that reflects the racial mix of our community.

And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. Revelation 5:9 (NIV)
