We are pleased to announce that Mallory Cormack will be serving as an intern for our children’s ministry this summer at HighPoint! She will be helping with our camps, helping to prepare for our summer Bible classes, and helping to plan and lead other events we will do this summer. She will start in the later part of May.
Mallory grew up at HighPoint and is currently a Freshman at Baylor University. Her parents are Bill and Julie Cormack. She has worked in our kids ministry for many years, this will be her eighth year serving! Many of us already know what a great heart she has for kids.
On Easter Weekend, we had a super fun event for kids, the “Easter Eggstravaganza.” We had inflatables, carnival games, face painting, and several easter egg hunts for kids of all ages. Here’s some of the video highlights:
The position of Director of the HighPoint Center (the new name for Dr. John’s Sports Center, effective this Summer!) has been posted and resumes are being sought. Check it out, and share it with others you feel would be good candidates.
Our kids ministry donated money, made notes (in English and Russian), pictures, and decorated bags for children in an orphanage in Russia. The “Global Good” Impact Group assembled the gift bags to be mailed for Easter. Thanks to Kathy Russell for coordinating this wonderful mission effort for our kids!
We value teaching kids in a fun way. In February we are teaching about PEACE, and the creative theme we use is that people are messy, but God teaches us peace as a way to live the love He wants us to have.
This is a short clip of one messy way we introduced a lesson.
Check out how we are learning our verse this month and get a musical and video understanding of a Biblical message we’re teaching kids in November:

Here are a few photo highlights of some of our Impact Groups doing service for the community. Activities include Face Painting as part of a neighborhood’s “National Night Out” program, sharing care packages with the homeless in Austin, and providing food for local students in need.
It’s easy to oversell and use big adjectives, but this Sunday really will be amazing. We’re unveiling our vision for the next phase of HighPoint. Brace for impending amazement.
