How to BE THE CHURCH- Sept 27th

At Highpoint, we believe that we should go to church, but primarily that we should BE THE CHURCH.  How do we do this?  By serving and loving those around us!

September is Faith in Action month, and we have numerous opportunities for members of our church and members of our community to serve together to make a difference in the lives of people right here in the Cedar Park/Leander areas.

Check out our projects below, and sign up to serve on September 27, 2014:

Blood Drive with the Blood Mobile  Highpointers giving blood to help our local blood banks. You can take a break from another project to give blood. After signing up, you will be contacted later so that your specific donation time can be scheduled.

Hearts for the Homeless- Build Homeless bags–  Highpointers will build “homeless bags” filled with toiletries, water, snacks, and other useful items. They will be distributed to the homeless at a later time.

Hill Country Community Ministries– HCCM provides food, clothing, financial help, & other resources to people in our community who greatly need it. Highpointers will help them with some of the basic upkeep of facilities; from cleaning out sheds to repairing decks & buildings.

Positive Letter-Writing to Community Leaders– Writing letters of encouragement to local leaders, such as the school superintendent, school board members, local school principals, the mayor, city council members, the police & fire chiefs, and more. This is a fantastic project for those who may not be able to be as physically active as some of the other FIA projects.

Free Garage Sale We ask for donations from everybody, we setup the stuff, then we give it all away! This is a fun project that’s been going for 7 years and always makes a big impact. It’s scheduled for Sept. 27 from 8am-1pm.
