On Sunday, June 12, our new Shepherds will be installed during our services. Please come to support these leaders, and to participate in a special time of communion with us.
What is a Highpoint Shepherd?
The Shepherds have the following responsibilities:
1. Providing Spiritual Guidance
Shepherds intercede daily for spiritual wisdom and insight (Psalm 127:1, Ephesians 1:17-19).
Shepherds develop relationships by being present and available especially in groups, classes, ministries, and the lobby (Luke 10:25-28).
Shepherds identify and mentor growing Christians so they, in turn, can be leaders (2 Timothy 2:2).
2. Providing Compassionate Care
Shepherds show unconditional love to all members regardless of their opinions, personalities, backgrounds, or failures (John 15:12).
Shepherds respond to prayer requests. (Luke 18:1-7, Romans 12:12, Ephesians 6:18, Philippians 4:6, Colossians 4:2).
Shepherds visit those in the hospital, the sick, and the homebound when appropriate (James 5:14).
3. Providing Teaching
Shepherds teach through actions, words, and the Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Timothy 2: 14-17, James 2:18, James 3:13).
Guard the church from unbiblical teaching (Titus 1:9, 2:1, 2:11, 3:9-11).
