Highpoint Family,
It has been a bumpy road these past several weeks and months, but I am so thankful for the way our church family cares for and loves one another even in these tumultuous days.
Our trustee team is constantly asking itself, what is the best way that we can care for our church family? Physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And while these types of decisions are difficult, please know that much prayer and thought have gone into them, and I would ask that whether or not you completely agree or not, that you remember first your calling as a follower of Jesus to submit to the authorities that He has given you as a gift.
The trustees have reviewed our policies regarding Covid and have determined that beginning this Sunday, December 13th, we will require masks to be worn in all common areas (lobby, bathrooms, hallways), anytime you are in the building. During 2nd service, our church family will be allowed to remove their mask during the church service as long as they remain in their seat. This will help us protect our church members and staff at times when our church family is congregating together in those common areas.
We will still maintain social distancing in the sanctuary with every other row being blocked off. We will continue cleaning before, during, and after services, and will maintain contactless offering and communion for our folks as we have been doing. Our mask required service (1st service) will continue as normal with masks required from the time you come in the building until you leave). And of course, for those that are unable to attend in person, we are still offering our livestream services at 9:30 & 11am. (View at: bit.ly/highpointstream )
I want to thank you all in advance for your understanding and gracious response to this change (even if your 1st response was frustration!) There are many issues at play here and we truly want what is best for our entire church family. If you are struggling with this decision, I would ask you first to spend some time in prayer, and then feel free to email me or give me a call to discuss this further. It is our hope and prayer that this season of difficulty would be over soon, but until it is let's seek to "walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." (Ephesians 4:1-6)
Continue praying for those that have lost loved ones. Pray that the message of salvation would be proclaimed to the brokenhearted, the lost, the hopeless; and let's continue to show the love of Jesus to one another and to our community, by being a people of hope and peace! We love you Highpoint family. May the love of Jesus be yours in abundance today!!
Grace and peace,
Brandon
